planning your wedding day with photography in mind

Frequently asked questions

We've been in the wedding world for 10 years and have a complied a list of common questions to help guide you as we prepare our wedding photography journey together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Once you’ve selected your date and determined your collection, we will email a photography agreement and invoice for your retainer fee (holds your date in my calendar).  The final balance is due 30 days before your wedding date.

How do I book my wedding?

Absolutely.  We would love to travel to your location!  Our wedding collection include 60-miles of travel from Monroe, La.  Anything outside of 60-miles will be added to your selected collection, and we handle all of our own travel arrangements unless otherwise specified.

Are you available for travel?

We can happily tailor any collection to best suit your celebration. Please email us your wish list. We will follow up with a custom collection for your review.

Can I customize a collection?

My second shooter is Brian, my husband and we work as a team to ensure all the events are covered.  He will usually cover groom getting ready, ceremony, and reception.  He also assists me throughout the day.

How many photographers will be there?

We both shoot with Canon cameras.  We always bring 3 cameras (one for backup), lens, and memory card backups, and many other tools for lighting.  We are prepared for all lighting conditions such as, daytime portraits and night time exits.

What equipment do you use?

A month before your wedding, we will have settled on the best timeline suited for your day.  The timeline allows for us to ensure all the important events are captured with no stressed time limits.  We love being both interactive and discrete throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the day when I will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done in order to keep everyone on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn't even know that I'm there (The ceremony, first dances and toasts, etc.).

What is your shooting style?

Having an emergency come up immediately before a wedding is a circumstance we have yet to encounter (knock on wood)—and an unpleasant thought for everyone involved. Leading up to a wedding, we plan our lives carefully to ensure our health is in top form and that we have ample travel time. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent us from attending your wedding, we will do our best to arrange a replacement photographer. Alternatively, we would return your full investment (minus services already rendered, i.e., engagement session) and allow you to make your own arrangements if you so choose.

What happens if Kim get sicks or has some sort of emergency right before the wedding?

We average 50-60 final pictures per hour that we're actively shooting throughout the day. We love delivering our couple's pictures quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your pictures as much as you want. We believe in freely sharing our work because that is what we would want if we were in your shoes.

How many images will I recieve?

All final images receive color corrections and exposure adjustments before we present them in the online gallery.  Our preference is for all images to look natural and unretouched. Any adjustments we make are minimal, leaving your photographs looking clean, beautiful and representative of your celebration.

Do you retouch your images?

Turnaround times for engagement and portrait sessions average 3 to 4 weeks. Turnaround times for wedding images is 4 to 6 weeks.  Our goal is for you to receive your photos as soon as possible.

When should I expect to get my photos?

We will first photograph you with your immediate family members (parents and siblings) and grandparents (if applicable) during the allotted formal family time. If you have groupings outside of immediate family, we can photograph them during the reception. Additionally, please inform us of any special groupings due to family circumstances (i.e divorce, stepparents, etc) so that we can appropriately welcome and recognize all of the meaningful relationships in your life.

Who should be included in family photos?

If an album is included in your collection, you will receive a first draft approximately 8 weeks after receiving your images. We custom design and lay out your album drafts to best narrate your wedding’s beautiful story. When you receive the first draft, you have the opportunity to make revisions. These may include swapping images, omitting spreads or adding spreads. Once you have approved your draft the album will then proceed to production. You can learn more about the albums and handcrafted products we offer here.

Do I select the images that will be used in my wedding album?
